Born in Ooty, South India, Dr. Sundar graduated with an MBBS from JIPMER, Pondicherry, followed by a Diploma in Child Health from Delhi University. Early in his career, he worked in remote South Indian villages, ensuring children received essential immunizations, a service highly appreciated by the local government.

In late 1972, he migrated to Australia, beginning his medical journey at Princess Margaret Hospital before working in several major hospitals. In 1979, he transitioned to General Practice, dedicating his career to serving disadvantaged communities, raising awareness of chronic medical conditions, and supporting patients from childhood through old age.

Alongside his wife, Rani, he provided annual medical check-ups through various organizations, including AASHA Australia Foundation. His commitment to community health has been widely recognized, earning multiple awards, including the prestigious Order of Australia Medal in 2019 for his exceptional service. Even in retirement, Dr. Sundar continues to work with AASHA Foundation, supporting the elderly and disadvantaged in meaningful ways, reflecting his lifelong dedication to community care.
