Bijinder Dugal is the Co-founding Director of AASHA Australia Foundation, a not-for-profit charity established in 2017 to support the health and well-being of older members of the Indian community. Entirely volunteer-run, AASHA fosters a strong cultural connection through music, dance, and art—promoting both physical and mental well-being.
Bijinder Dugal is an exemplary Australian who values Australia’s multicultural society. As a co-founder of AASHA Foundation, she has enriched the lives of older Australian Indians, particularly those who experience social isolation, something that was exacerbated by the Covid pandemic. Bijinder is a lifelong educator who not only understands the value of culture in enriching the well-being of older Australians who identify as Hindi or Indian but implements programs to make this possible.
Her volunteer work with AASHA Foundation continues to build strong creative social connections with older Australians through music, dance, and song events that lift their spirits. Bijinder passionately believes that every senior should enjoy their golden years in health, happiness, and with dignity. This means celebrating their culture.
